NPWS invites applications for artist residencies at Russell’s Cottage, Glenveagh National Park

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in collaboration with the Office of Public Works (OPW) and Regional Cultural Centre (RCC), Donegal is thrilled to announce the launch of two new artist residencies at the recently redeveloped Russell’s Cottage in Glenveagh National Park.

Restaurant Closure

‘The Birch Tree’ Restaurant in the Visitor Centre, Glenveagh National Park is now closed for the season. The Castle tea rooms continue to provide light snacks, tray bakes and tea – coffees, but waiting times may be longer than normal.

Heritage Week 2024

To celebrate Heritage Week our Shuttle Bus services & Self-Guided Castle Tours (subject to availability) will be free of charge from Saturday 17th – Sunday 25th August. No booking required. Craft Stalls & Music will also be in the park both weekends. Watch out for the Native Woodland Tent all week & a special open

Castle Closed

The castle will be closed to tours from Wednesday 19th June until Monday 24th June, the information desk will remain open. The castle will be closed for tours on Wednesdays throughout the summer, but all other facilities remain open. Please check our social media chanels for regular updates or changes. We regret any inconvenience caused.

CIE Award of Excellence

We’re delighted to announce that Glenveagh National Park & Castle has been awarded the CIE Tours Visitor Experience Award of Excellence 2023. This award is based on the positive feedback received from CIE customers and Glenveagh achieved a customer rating of 92% or higher from guests . These ratings, which are derived from CIE guest surveys, are evaluated independently & externally.
