Many of the trails and walking paths in Killarney National Park are badly flooded, especially Ross Island, Muckross, Dinis, Reen and Knockreer.  Rainfall is well above average.  Please be careful and dress accordingly if venturing out.

Killarney National Parks Service Conservation Rangers Sam Bailey and Jess Burkett have set up a ‘duck trap’ for a new study of Killarney National Park water birds. The study will enable the Rangers to monitor the population and play close attention to their habitat and trends in breeding and behaviour over the winter months. Well

Conservation Ranger Sam Bayley will be providing information and regular video features on his work as a Conservation Ranger with Killarney National Park.   One of the main roles of the Ranger is to monitor wildlife within Killarney National Park. The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in association with Christmas in Killarney is excited to bring a virtual Christmas treasure trail to Killarney this year. Wanderful Christmas is a digital orienteering experience that enables families to look for markers placed around the town and National Park and when discovered, meet hidden virtual Christmas characters.
