Woodland Management

You may notice some significant changes on your next visit to Glenveagh National Park.

Over the coming months we will be removing several stands of non-native conifers in the vicinity of the National Park buildings and roads. The non-native trees are being felled as part of the Glenveagh Woodland Management Strategy and they will be replaced by native tree species grown in the newly developed Glenveagh tree nursey. Please note, it is important that the trees are felled before the beginning of the bird breeding season on March 1st and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

For more information, the Glenveagh Woodland Strategy is available for download on our website – www.nationalparks.ie/glenveagh/ for further reading.
