The nearest Garda station is in the village of Falcarragh and the closest Hospital is in Letterkenny.
The park is staffed 7 days a week all year round with the Visitor Centre open from 0900hrs until 1700hrs (1800hrs in summer)
Glenveagh National Park is 15km from Letterkenny.
A Local Link bus travels to the park. Check Local Bus website for further details.
In the summer months the park opens at 9.15am and closes at 5.30pm, winter opening hours are 8.30am until 5pm. It is always advisable to check our website.
The Castle is open for guided tours in the summer season and limited tours are available for the winter months although it is advisable to check our website.
Glenveagh National Park is 15km from Letterkenny.
It is 4km from the Visitor Centre to the Castle.
The Tearoom at the Castle is open all year round except on Good Friday and during Christmas holidays. The Restaurant at the Visitor Centre is open from Easter until September.
Yes there is a Shuttle Bus Service available within the park. It is advisable to check our website on availability in the winter months.
Yes dogs are allowed in the park but not on the park bus or in buildings. Guide dogs have access to all areas of the park. Dogs must be kept on a lead.
Yes there is a credit card facility at the Visitor Centre and Castle.
Yes there are various walking routes in the park. Please enquire at the Visitor Centre where a guide can inform you of these routes.
We also provide a service on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays where at a cost of €3 (€2 concession) a bus would leave you at the beginning of two walking routes – the Lough Inshagh walk and the Bridle path walk.
